MEET THE STAFF
Pete MaddocksLEAD PASTOR
Pete is married to Marlene and they have three children, Elijah (6), Ezekiel (4) and Raine (2). As lead pastor he is the primary teaching voice during our Sunday worship experiences, helps create the vision for the church and works to develop the staff and key leaders within the church. In his spare time he enjoys exercise, watching movies and playing football or basketball. If you're ever in his office you'll notice several baseballs and unique fidget spinners on his desk. This is because he loves to fidget when he's working on a sermon on in a meeting.
Steve KerrADULT SPIRITUAL FORMATION PASTOR
Steve and his wife Whitney moved from Toronto and joined St. Paul’s in 2017. Steve is passionate about encouraging and empowering leaders to develop and disciple those around them. In his role, he works with our Home Churches and Care Ministries helping people find a place to belong, a safe place to become more like Christ, and partner with God in bringing His kingdom to life in our city and world. As a trained Spiritual Director he spends time creating spaces and curating spiritual practices for others to deepen their relationships with God individually and within our community of Home Churches. Besides being passionate about seeing people grow, Steve spends his spare time gardening indoors and out, as well as competing in international floral design competitions.
Brian KivellWORSHIP DIRECTOR
Brian and his wife BJ have 7 kids. They have been at St. Paul's since 2013 and Brian accepted a role as Worship Director in 2016. In his role, Brian oversees all technology volunteers as well as all of the musicians that come together to make our Sunday Worship Experience a meaningful one. Brian loves to keep the other staff on their toes by keeping the office atmosphere relaxed with a little bit of fun (thanks, in part, to his life-sized cardboard cutout of himself.)
Brian grew up in a musical home and spent much of his childhood travelling and singing with his family. He later spent four years as a missionary working in orphanages and with street kids in Ukraine. Today, he also owns a branding company, writing jingles for businesses in Southwestern Ontario. He loves all things baseball, and the show "The Office".
Dave CharronCHILDREN & YOUTH DIRECTOR
Dave has been on staff for 6 years as the Children & Youth Director. He's been a part of SPCC since it started, volunteering on worship teams as a drummer. His key responsibilities are overseeing all of our children and youth programs and supporting a large team of adult and teenage volunteers. His role includes recruiting, training, scheduling, Plan to Protect, and working with Ministry Action Team members to develop annual objectives. Dave believes it is important for all children and students to experience God’s love and to have opportunities to share this love with others. He's married, has 2 kids, loves authentic Mexican food, outdoor activities, detailing his vehicles, and a wide variety of music genres (thank-you Spotify).
